New Build Stucco Installation in Oakville

A new two-storey custom home in Oakville, finished in light stucco over a stone base while the roof trim and patio were still open. Builders send us drawings; we quote from them and book the wall around the other trades.

Where this house stood when our part was done

The photo shows the walls finished while the eaves and patio are still open, so three stages of the build sit on one elevation.

New build stucco

In before us

What has to be finished before stucco starts
  • Roof shingled, so water stays off the new wall.
  • Windows installed, stickers still on the glass.
  • Stone veneer laid at the base, so we finish down to its top edge.

Our scope

The stucco package on this house
  • Smooth light finish over both storeys and the side walls.
  • Returns at every window opening, finished to the black frames.
  • The joint where stucco meets the stone base.

Still open after us

Left for the trades that follow
  • Rafter tails at the eaves, waiting for fascia and soffit.
  • Bare joists under the upper floor over the patio.
  • Patio slab under a tarp, steel posts not yet clad.

Eavestrough goes up after the finish coat, never before. See also soffit & eavestrough.

Builder questions on new-build stucco

Not answered here? Call, or send a page of the drawings.

(905) 973-6470
When should a builder book the stucco crew?
At the drawing stage, before framing if possible. On site we start after the windows and roof are in and before final grading.
Does the price hold once you quote from the drawings?
Yes. We verify the walls on site at framing, and the price changes only if the drawings change.
Who fixes stucco items found at the PDI?
We do, before closing. Deficiencies on our scope are corrected, photographed and signed off.
