FAQ

Frequently asked stucco questions

What is the difference between traditional stucco and EIFS?
Traditional stucco is a cement-based hard coat applied over lath. EIFS (acrylic stucco) is a polymer finish over an insulated foam board, so it adds continuous insulation, resists hairline cracks better and carries integral colour that never needs painting. We install both and recommend the right one for your project.
How much does stucco cost in the GTA?
Most homes fall between $8 and $16 per square foot installed. The range depends on the system, how much prep and detailing the walls need, height and access. We give a free, fixed written quote after seeing the walls so there are no surprises.
How long does a stucco project take?
A typical detached home takes one to two weeks weather permitting — base coat, mesh, insulation and detailing, then the finish coat and cure. Repairs are usually one or two days. We put the schedule in writing before starting.
Can you repair stucco instead of replacing it?
Often, yes. Cracks, impact holes and water damage can be cut out, re-flashed and refinished to match the surrounding texture and colour. We only recommend full replacement when the underlying system has failed — and we tell you which it is honestly.
Will new stucco match my existing finish?
Matching is our standard for repairs and additions. We identify the existing texture and colour, mix to it and feather the finish so the repaired area blends in. On full exteriors you pick from a wide range of integral acrylic colours.
Is stucco a good choice for Ontario winters?
Yes. Insulated EIFS adds a continuous thermal layer that cuts heat loss and handles our freeze-thaw cycles well. The key is correct control joints, flashing and sealants — details we build into every job so the wall stays crack-free and watertight.
Do you work with builders on new construction?
Yes. We quote from architectural drawings, attend site meetings and slot into the construction schedule for custom homes and low-rise buildings, so the envelope closes on the date you promised your client.
Which areas do you serve, and are you insured?
We are based in Oakville and serve the whole GTA — Toronto, Mississauga, Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Markham, North York, Etobicoke, Burlington and Milton. We are fully insured and every quote is free and in writing.
