Our finished work in the other three Halton towns

We have no Halton Hills project on this site yet. Here is one house each from Milton, Burlington and Oakville.

All projects

Milton: black and grey EIFS

The months we can coat a wall in Halton Hills

Georgetown and Acton are in Halton, the same region as our Oakville base, and the working year is the same.

December to March

We visit, measure and send the written quote. A leak gets sealed now and finished in spring.

April to November

Base coat and acrylic finish go on, because both need about 5°C or more to cure. A crack repair is usually one day on site, a patch with a texture match one to two, and a section rebuilt after water damage three to five.

Is your house on the Niagara Escarpment? Three questions

Part of Halton Hills is inside the Niagara Escarpment Plan area. The Niagara Escarpment Commission's page on exterior repairs and maintenance says work on the outside of a single dwelling needs no development permit from it when all three answers are no.

Does the job change the footprint?

Stucco, a repair or a re-coat goes on walls that are already there. An addition is not covered.

Stucco job: no

Does it change the height?

A wall finish leaves the roof alone. A new roof pitch or height is not covered.

Stucco job: no

Does it change the use?

The house stays a house. The Commission's list of exempt work names new siding, finishes and foundational work.

Stucco job: no

The owner makes this check, and the Commission sends no confirming letter. Its interactive map shows if your lot is in the plan area. Questions go to nec@ontario.ca.

The price ranges we quote from before we see the house

The same ranges as in Oakville or Milton. One fixed figure in writing follows the visit.

Older houses and the Town's heritage register

The Town's heritage planning page sorts properties into three kinds. Tell us which one yours is.

Listed on the register
No heritage permit is required to alter it. The Town encourages a talk with its heritage planner first.
Designated under Part IV of the Ontario Heritage Act
A heritage permit is required for changes that affect the heritage attributes in the designating by-law.
69 to 89 Bower Street
The Syndicate Housing Heritage Conservation District, designated by Council in 2005.

When to phone the building counter at Town Hall

The Town's Building Services page says the Building Code Act requires a permit for the construction, demolition or change of use of a building.

An addition is construction, and your designer or builder files for it. If you plan to strip a whole house and put on a new system, ask the counter about your address before you sign.

Do you take stucco jobs in Georgetown and Acton?
Yes. We are based in Oakville, which is in Halton, and Georgetown, Acton and the rural parts of Halton Hills are inside the area we cover. Call or text (905) 973-6470 with your address and a few photos.
Do I need a Niagara Escarpment Commission permit to stucco my house?
The Commission exempts exterior repair and maintenance of a single dwelling from a development permit when the work does not change the footprint, the height or the use of the building. An addition is not covered. You make that check yourself as the owner.
Can you repair a wall in winter?
We can stop water in any month by sealing the damaged spot. The base coat and the finish wait for April, because they need about 5°C or more to cure.
