What a Toronto lot changes about an EIFS job

We check these five on the site visit, before the price is written.

Stucco in Toronto
Narrow side yard between a new house and the neighbour's brick home: a smooth white wall with horizontal joint lines, a ladder and a dark base above the soil
A side yard on another of our jobs: the white wall stops above a dark base, clear of the soil.
Access

The rear yard above had room for full-height scaffold. A semi with no side access means carrying everything in, and the same wall area costs more.

Century brick

Soft old brick has to breathe. We assess it and specify a breathable system, or tell you to leave the brick alone.

Heritage status

A designated heritage property needs City of Toronto approval before its exterior changes. We flag a Heritage Conservation District before quoting.

Clearance at grade

EIFS must end above finished grade on a hard edge, so the foam never sits in soil or snowmelt.

Season

We install EIFS in Ontario from April to November, so book the visit early if you want the wall done before winter.

★★★★★
“Had a great experience with this stucco company. The team was professional, showed up on time, and the finish looks amazing. Highly recommend for stucco repair or EIFS installation in the GTA.”

Asked before an EIFS job in Toronto

How much insulation does EIFS add to an older Toronto house?
On a re-clad we usually fit 1 to 2 inches of EPS foam, roughly R-4 to R-8. It runs outside the studs, so the wall loses its cold stripe at every stud.
Will the beige finish need painting later?
No. The colour is tinted into the acrylic finish coat itself. What needs renewing is the sealant at windows and joints, every 5 to 10 years.
Which parts of Toronto do you work in?
All of it, from The Kingsway and High Park to Leaside, Willowdale and Scarborough. The site visit and the written quote are free wherever the house is.
