A cured sample panel, outdoors
We mix it from the batch we will use and judge it dry, on the elevation it belongs to: wet stucco is not the colour of cured stucco.
On this Oakville house the left elevation already carries a smooth, light acrylic finish with a horizontal reveal, while the right side is still in house wrap above the stone base. We start every job like it with a free site visit and a fixed written quote.
Acrylic is the finish we put on framed walls like this one; cement still wins on solid masonry and on walls that take knocks.
| Acrylic finish | Cement finish | |
|---|---|---|
| How it cures | Dries, and stays slightly elastic for its whole life | Hydrates into a rigid mineral crust |
| Colour | Tinted in the pail; the pigment is locked in a polymer and holds longer | Pigment sits in a mineral matrix that weathers sooner |
| Hairline cracks | Flexes with small movement instead of splitting | Shrinks as it cures, so control joints matter more |
| Where we use it | Framed walls, new builds still settling, any foam system, strong colours | Old block or brick that must dry outward, heritage homes, ground-level walls |
| Schedule | Weather-resistant soon after it goes on over a cured base coat | Still has curing to do after it is applied |
Both last 30–50 years when installed with working drainage and flashing.
These are the ranges we quote from before seeing the house; the written price after the visit is fixed. A smooth trowel finish sits higher because the base coat has to be flat. Cost calculator

Integral colour cannot be changed without redoing the coat, so we settle it before the crew opens a pail. How we match colours
We mix it from the batch we will use and judge it dry, on the elevation it belongs to: wet stucco is not the colour of cured stucco.
Two batches are never identical, so we order each elevation at once and keep the formula on file for any repair years later.
Darker finishes take more heat and show dust and efflorescence; over foam, manufacturers set a minimum light-reflectance value, and we check yours before ordering.
