The roofline on this house, part by part
The house has two roof levels above grey stucco and light stone. The numbers mark the four parts of the roofline you can see in the photo.

A black trough runs the full length of the top roof edge and collects the water off the main roof.

Lower roof edge
The lower roof ends in a deep dark fascia band with its own black trough, above the first-floor walls.

Corner downspout
A black downspout runs beside the light stone pier from the roof down to the ground.

Side-wall downspout
On the long side wall a second downspout runs over the grey stucco and the stone base to the grass.
The troughs and downspouts are the same black as the window frames, so the roofline reads as one line with the glass.

Black, white or wall colour: choosing the trough
Aluminum soffit, fascia and eavestrough come pre-finished in colour. These three houses show the three usual choices.
Black
Black fascia and downspouts frame a taupe stucco house, with pot lights set into the soffit. It suits black window frames, as on the Burlington house.
White
A white trough and downspout on a brick new build match its light porch columns and trim.
Wall colour
On this grey stucco house the fascia sits close to the wall colour, so the roof edge does not stand out.
